  When you truly love someone, you build something good in them, but if you don't love that person, the characters, attitude and lifestyles  of that person means nothing to you, even when you see them doing something wrong, you just laugh and makes it look funny like they is nothing wrong with it. 
 
   If you love that person, you will always make sure you impact some good lifestyle in them, you will correct them when that person is wrong. 

 For instance you are dating a guy and takes you clubing and let's you smoke and drink without saying anything,my dear run cause he does not love you and does not want to impact good in you. 

That is why when you break up with that person, you always remember the good impact he/she impact in your life and it makes you miss and wished it never ended. 
Not all relationships takes to alter because some happen so we will learn good new things before meeting the Right one.
